Teen Counseling
Safe Space for Tweens, Teens, and Youth
My teen therapy approach is to first build strong rapport and connection. No one wants to talk to someone they don't trust...especially teens! Teens are in a tough spot as young, almost-adults who have many expectations placed on them, but they cannot yet make decisions for themselves. Sometimes our teens are struggling with depression, anxiety, family dynamics, bullying, among many other trials and they just need someone to listen. I also focus on educating teens on identifying what they specifically are experiencing and how it is impacting their mental health. We talk about coping strategies, relaxation techniques, shifting from a negative to a positive mindset, and what we can control versus what we cannot control.
Family Counseling
Growing Stronger through Therapy + Support
Families come in many different shapes and sizes. I work with families through difficulty adjusting to new custody arrangements, parents and children experiencing conflict, divorcing parents, blended families, etc. Family work is in depth and to be successful, it requires each member to get to a place where they can be vulnerable, open, and honest. Developing conflict resolution skills as well as creating safety for each person to express their feelings is key.
Therapy for Mom
Moms need a break, too! Let's have Coffee and Talk Therapy
Being a mother is incredibly rewarding and challenging all at the same time from the moment motherhood begins! While babies bring so much job, the reality is when you're pregnant and become a mother, your life is no longer your own and that can be hard! The change is abrupt no matter how prepared you might be. Moms deal with postpartum depression and feel ashamed to talk about it. Whether you've been a mom for a minute or years, moms experience "mom guilt" when they do take time for themselves in between caring for their children and working. These struggles can lead to burnout, stress, depression, anxiety, and much more. My goal is to help moms understand they are not alone, their feelings are valid, and it's okay, actually necessary and healthy, to care for themselves!
Therapy for Women
What if I don't have it all together?
Being a woman in today's society comes with many expectations. With the growth of social media, women see other women with perfect clothes, perfect homes, perfect children, great careers, and they look like they have it ALL together! This false narrative is dangerous! Comparing ourselves to others as opposed to loving ourselves and the lives we've created can be detrimental to our mental health. Therapy gives women a safe space to be themselves, unpack their struggles, and develop healthy self-talk to lead to a happier future!
